<\/a><\/p>\nHalf way into priming it I realized I didn’t take a “Before” picture…oops<\/p>\n
I primed it with a gray primer I had left over from painting my kitchen cabinets in my CA house. \u00a0I used a regular wall paint brush to apply it. \u00a0This gave it heavy brush stroke marks, which I wanted.<\/p>\n
Then I painted a blue over the top with a foam brush. \u00a0Foam brush does not leave marks. \u00a0But you could still see the ones underneath a little. \u00a0I put two coats of blue on. \u00a0Then….<\/p>\n I went crazy with my sander.<\/p>\n But after my craziness I realized I really didn’t like the light wood showing through. \u00a0So I stained it green. \u00a0I took green paint brushed it on, then wiped it off after a second or two.<\/p>\n I also willy nilly brushed on some color to different spots. \u00a0And then went over the whole\u00a0piece\u00a0with a\u00a0navy\u00a0blue glaze.<\/p>\n After I was done I decided to try using a wax instead of a polyurethane; which I usually use to finish furniture.<\/p>\n I loved it! \u00a0I will\u00a0definitely be using it again. \u00a0Super easy. \u00a0Just get a rag, wipe it on. \u00a0Wait until it is no longer tacky to the touch and then with a dry clean rag, rub the piece till it shines just a bit.<\/p>\n This is how it turned out.<\/p>\n I am still trying to figure out what to put on it. \u00a0I want to get some fun frames and put our family pictures on it. \u00a0But for now, my parents grace the shelves.<\/p>\n I bought some fun glass handles from Home Depot for the doors.<\/p>\n It will all come together soon. \u00a0I hope \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
